Grey hair is in and not just for those over the age of 50. After first showing up on the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 runways, celebrities like Kate Moss, Kelly Osbourne and Pink began sporting grey manes. Most recent to jump on the grey haired bandwagon? Lady Gaga, who sports long grey locks on the September 2010 cover of Vanity Fair magazine.
Having lasted almost a year, it seems that this trend is far from over. As Toronto Star reporter Susan Pigg reports, more and more 'regular' people are are requesting stylists help them turn their hair grey.
"Rosedale hair stylist Rita Renouf, 55, finds all this quite amusing, having spent decades fighting back grey before letting her own wavy locks return to their natural silver a few years ago. "It used to be that young girls hated my hair – I looked old. Now all of a sudden I'm finding that a lot of girls are very envious of my colour. I've never had 20- to 25-year-olds go crazy over my hair. But it's quite beautiful, I have to admit."

I've never been the trendy girl. AT ALL. I never really followed fashion.. Grey? It sound hidious to me. It can totally work on other people , that I'm sure, but not on me.. I'll have grey hair in my 40s or 50s.. now I'm okai with them being brown!
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny because I've had a thing for grey hair for a while now- everytime I get my highlights (my mum's a hairdresser), I beg for her to leave the toner in so it almost turns a violet/purple... it is the only way to keep the brassiness away! I'd rather have a grey/purple than a yellow/orange, you know?

Ok is the second one supposed to be katie holmes? I doubt it but it does look like her! @ Curves Ahead I think maybe a gray under-ness (you know when you see blondes with the black underneath) would look good /cool but i think it would have to be an almost platinum blonde /white gray or the gray-purple like kelly osbourne. Too much silver looks kinda weird there is no dimension! To me the first model looks like a dog! The gray makes the outer hair look like floppy ears, see it? Idk I'm not sure about this as an all over look, It seems like a matte trend to me. I think Kelly's is the only wearable look, if your daring enough! so....not into this! I dont see the appeal of having grey hair :( I think salt and pepper hair is REALLY hot on a man, but full on grey hair on a woman looks like you went to the beauty school to get your hair done blonde and they messed up! lol

Crazy GAGA can rock anything:) I personally don't think it would be the best on me. Oh, the purple shampoo is great though! I use it for my blonde hair to keep it ashy.
