By now I am certain everyone has seen pictures of the damage and destruction in Japan after a record breaking earthquake and Tsunami hit the country. The pictures seem almost surreal, something out of a movie, but sadly they are all horrifyingly real. Entire towns are gone, crushed by the waves of the tsunami, and thousands of people are dead. The people of Japan need our help.
After the success of my first 'Dare to Wear Challenge for Charity' where you, my subscribers, helped raise $240 for AIDS charity, I am so excited to be having another charity challenge, this time for Japan.
I have decided to use my 'Dare to Wear' challenge to dare all of you to help raise money for Japan via The Canadian Red Cross. For every person who takes my dare to wear challenge, my family will be donating $10 in their honour (ie. 100 people = $1000 for Japan).
For those of you who are new to my blog and don't know what a "Dare to Wear Challenge" is, basically I challenge all of my subscribers to recreate a makeup look from a picture/pictures I post (pictures at the end of this post). It doesn't have to be an exact copy of the look, but rather a look that is inspired by the picture.
For those of you who have blogs, you can post your recreated looks for all of your subcribers and those who don't have a blog can just do it for fun!
If you want to participate in this challenge (come on, it's for CHARITY!), you can post a link to your look in the comment section below or email me your pictures at: firstname.lastname@example.org. After 3 weeks (Monday, April 11th), I will post everyone's looks in an updated post and let you know how much money was raised.
So, onto the look. I have decided that, because we are raising money for Japan, it would be fun for you to do a look inspired by the country. There are so many options, you could do a Geisha inspired look, a look inspired by Japanese street fashion, a Tsubasa Masuwaka look, a Harajuku girls look, an anime look or any other look reminiscent of the country. I have included some example pictures below.
I really hope you will take part in this 'Dare to Wear Charity Challenge' and help raise money for a very important cause. Please be sure to encourage your friends, family and subscribers to take part in this challenge as well.
Can't wait to see your looks!
