Hey Everyone,
Country songstress Kellie Pickler recently shaved her head in support of her best friend, Summer Miller, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer this past June. Summer recently underwent a double mastectomy, and is set to start chemotherapy this week. Wanting to bring attention and awareness about the importance of early detection, the two friends decided to shave their heads.
"Cancer does not discriminate. If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it" -Pickler and Miller
To see a behind the scenes video of the two ladies shaving their heads, and to find out more about Summer's fight with breast cancer, check out www.athenawater.com.

ReplyDeleteThe support of your friends and family members is so important during these hard times. The more supporters you have the better recovery goes. The rising number of patients suffering from this terrible disease is just alarming and the least we can do is to support the organizations whose members are working hard every day to relieve the sufferings of those patients and raise awareness all around the country. This weekend is a perfect opportunity for all Torontonians to participate in the event called the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers taking place in our city. It's one of the most important events of this month and I think all of us should show our support to those who really need it.
