Hey Everyone,
As I mentioned in a previous post, a couple of weekends ago my sister, Krista and I went to Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival (Tiff). We had an amazing time checking out a couple of the Tiff films, trying to find celebrities and meeting up with some good friends. One of the highlights of our trip was the L'Oreal 'Red Carpet Style Stars' event we were invited to attend at Toronto's Panorama Lounge, a swanky downtown bar over looking all of Toronto.
As one of Tiff's major sponsors, L'Oreal held the event in which two of their extremely talented hair artists, Eric Del Monaco, and Johnny Lavoy gave us some insight into upcoming fall hair trends, showcased some of L'Oreal's brand new hair products, and finally, gave us an inside scoop on some of the red carpet looks they have created created for their celebrity clientele.

NEW PRODUCTS
Of course, as a severe beauty addict, my main focus was on the new hair products L'Oreal will be releasing this fall. Below is more information on all of their new products:
L'Oreal Elnett Satin Lumiere Hairspray ($14.99 CND):
This new 'ultra strong hold' hairspray delivers amazing shine, using L'Oreal's patented Light Micro-Reflectors which 'create an invisible veil at the surface of the hair to capture the surrounding light and enhance its reflection for an infinite brilliance'. This hairspray will be available in both 'strong hold' and 'ultra strong hold'.
L'Oreal Hair Expertience Colour Radiance Precious Oils ($9.99):
This amazingly scented hair oil (seriously, I can't stop sniffing it!) works to nourish and protect colour-treated hair while making it soft, frizz-free, super shiny, and easy to work with. The new precious oils feature a UBV filter "that protects colour-treated or highlighted hair from the dulling colour-fading and drying effects of the sun's UV rays".
L'Oreal Hair Expertise Nutri-Sleek Precious Oils ($9.99 CND):
L'Oreal Nutri-Sleek Precious Oils, work to protect the hair from daily aggressors such as frizz and heat damage from the use of heated styling tools. According to L'Oreal, this product is "designed to help improve and maintain the overall health of hair while adding beautiful lustre and smoothness".
Elnett Styling Heat Sprays ($9.99 CND):
Brand new to the L'Oreal hair line, are three heat styling sprays (Smoothing Elnett Heat Spray, Volume Elnett Heat Spray and Curl Elnett Heat Spray) that work to protect hair from heated styling tools and "lock in shape and style for three days". Each of the new Elnett Heat Sprays contain "XYLOSE, a heat-protection agent that adheres all around the hair fibre and coats it with a heat-protecting film".
COLOUR CHANGES ARE IN
One of the major fall trends Eric and Johnny talked about is changing up your hair colour. Johnny encouraged all of the bloggers attending the event to have fun, let loose and switch up their hair colour this fall. For those who want to embrace change and re-colour their hair, L'Oreal has recently changed their hair colour packaging to make it more consumer friendly with easy-to-follow instructions. Personally, I am going to stick with my brunette hair for a while (I have been every colour under the sun in the past few years), but really want my sister Krista to go darker for fall.
STARS RED CARPET STYLES
Throughout the beautiful venue, L'Oreal posted photos of their favourite celebrities, detailing some of the products used to achieve their fabulous red carpet looks. Below is an example featuring singer Gwen Stefani.
*L'Oreal Superior Preference Les Blondissimes Hair Colour in LBO1
*L'Oreal Expertise Volume Collagen Root Lifting Spray
*L'Oreal Smoldering Eyeliner in 'Black'
*L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Lipstick in 'Pink Cashmere'
THE GIFT BAG
As always, L'Oreal was super generous, gifting each of the attendees with a bag filled with some of their new hair and makeup products. Of course, with two sister who will hopefully be sharing a house soon (we are making an offer on a place tonight...fingers crossed), we really don't need two of each product, so be sure to keep an eye out for an upcoming giveaway featuring some of L'Oreal newest products.
Eric Del Monaco, Me, Johnny Lavoy, Krista
The night, overall, was great. I was completely enamoured with the incredibly kind and completely hilarious Johnny Lavoy, who gave my sister and I the inside scoop on Project Runway's 10th season (he is the main hair artist for the show). I also loved being able to meet and catch up with some of my favourite beauty bloggers. Thank you to L'Oreal for inviting Krista and I to our first, and super fabulous, Tiff party.
Are you excited to try any of L'Oreal soon-to-be released hair products? Which of the celebrity hair styles shown above is your favourite? Will you be changing up your hair colour this fall? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.
