My New Love: Soap & Glory

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. Unfortunately, my Thursday has been a little rough, as I think I might be getting the nasty flu that has been all over the news lately (fingers crossed I'm wrong). So, please forgive me if today's post seems a little lackluster.

After hearing so many rave reviews, I asked my parents for a tub of Soap & Glory's famous 'Flake Away' body polish for Christmas this year. After only one try, I was completely hooked, and immediately hit my local Shoppers Drugmart to see what other Soap & Glory products I could get my hands on. What I ended up with was a super cute, and totally pink, holiday set that featured a full sized 'The Righteous Butter' body butter, a mini 'Hand Food'  hand cream and a mini 'Clean On Me' shower gel.

In the three weeks that I have been using my new Soap & Glory products, I have fallen head over heels in love with the UK based brand. Not only does everything smell AMAZING (seriously, I can't  help but sniff myself throughout the day. Weird, but true), all of the products I have used have been super moisturizing, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. With hot pink retro packaging, all of the Soap & Glory products are almost too pretty to be hidden in the bathroom (maybe I will start displaying them around my new house). Below is more information on each of the Soap & Glory products I currently own.

Soap & Glory 'Flake Away' Spa Body Polish:
Made with Shea butter, sweet almond oil, peach seed powder, sea salt and sugar, this super moisturizing body scrub removes dry flaky skin, while leaving it hydrated, and crazy smooth. Part of Soap & Glory's original 'pink scented' line, Flake Away combines fresh bergamot, mandarin, rose, peach, jasmine and strawberry for a clean, yet very unique scent (have I mentioned how much I love the smell yet?). I have been using this scrub every day since I got it, and have definitely noticed a huge difference when it comes to the dry, red, and itchy bumps I get on my arms every winter (they are far less noticeable). While 'Flake Away' is quite pricey at $18CND/300ml, the tub contains a lot of product and will probably last me another couple of months (if not longer). If you have yet to try anything from Soap & Glory, I would definitely recommend grabbing 'Flake Away' first. Trust me, you will be hooked!

Soap & Glory 'Clean On Me' Creamy Moisture Shower Gel:
This 'pink scented' (see above), super creamy shower gel combines natural mandarin peel, and a built in body lotion, to cleanse skin while keeping it smooth and hydrated. Unlike a lot of the shower gels I have used in the past, 'Clean On Me' doesn't lather much (I kept wondering where all of the bubbles were), but its amazing scent (honestly, so good!), and moisturizing formula make it one my new favourite body products. While the mini 'Clean On Me' came in a squeeze bottle, the full sized shower gel comes with a large pump making it shower friendly (no need to try and squeeze the bottle with wet, slippery hands) and easy to use. At $14 CND/500ml, this is another fairly pricey item (all of the Soap and Glory products are), but with a good loofah, a little drop goes a very long way.

Soap & Glory 'The Righteous Butter' Body Butter:
Although my skin is completely hydrated after using both the 'Flake Away' scrub and the 'Clean On Me' shower gel, I like to add an extra dose of moisture with Soap & Glory's 'The Righteous Butter' body butter. Made with shea butter and aloe vera, this thick whipped cream penetrates dry skin leaving it feeling velvety soft and smooth. Unlike a lot of the body butters (and lotions) I have tried in the past, 'The Righteous Butter' is not at all greasy, and, therefore, I have no problems slapping it on right before I get dressed. Although still somewhat pricey at $18 CND/300ml, Soap & Glory's body butter is a little less expensive than the famed Body Shop body butter (which I also love), and works just as well. Like all of the Soap and Glory products I have tried, a little butter goes a long way (I have used this every day for 3 weeks and have hardly made a dent), so plan on using this tub for at least a few months.

Soap and Glory 'Hand Food' Hydrating Hand Cream:
When it comes to hand cream, I have always been an unscented, 'Vaseline Intensive Care' kind of girl (my sister and I bicker over whose hand cream is better. She loves Aveeno. I don't.). So, I was a little 'iffy' when it came to trying the 'Hand Food' hand cream that came in my Soap & Glory set. While I still prefer to use my 'Vaseline Intensive Care' at night (trust me, no one will ever be able to break me of this habit), the mini tube of Soap & Glory hand cream has made for the perfect on-the-go, travel accessory. Scented with Soap & Glory's original 'pink scent' (I'll refrain from telling you how good it smells. Seriously though, it smells so good!), this hand cream uses shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow (what?!) to soften and hydrate dry, cracked hands (the label on the back of the tube says 'apply as often as you want to soften'). To be completely honest, this cream does leave the hands feeling slightly greasy (not as bad as that Aveeno my sister loves). So, if you hate that feeling, this is definitely not the product for you. At only $10 CND/125 ml, this is one of Soap & Glory's least expensive products, and might be a great option for those who want to try the line without having to fork over a lot of money.

Have you tried any of the Soap and Glory products? Are there any you really want to try? Now that I am a Soap and Glory addict, which of their other products should I try next? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.

  3. Clean on me is my favourite body wash, it smells lovely and if you get the large bottle it lasts for ages! Always a bonus that it seems to be on 3 for 2 a lot too!

  4. I have The Righteous Butter and Hand Food. While I LOVE how soft and moisturized they make my skin, the scent has far too much of a floral note for me and I don't use it as often as I should.

  5. I want to try the Flake Away! I've tried their Sexy Motherpucker lip gloss, which is pretty good, though a bit sticky.
