Hey Everyone,
Last night my sisters, my mom and I threw a small 60th Birthday celebration for my Dad. Originally, my Dad thought he was coming over to our house for some 'not-so-well-made' homemade lasagna, but when he arrived, we surprised him by sending him on a scavenger hunt with clues that led to dinner at a restaurant, some pretty cool presents and a nicely decorated cake (see pictures below and follow me on Instagram 'funnyfacebeautypics' to see more of my daily photos).
Since we were all dressing up for the occasion (I still don't understand how my Dad didn't know something was going on when he showed up to my house and I was wearing a sequin skirt instead of my regular leggings and sweatshirt), I thought my nails needed a 'festive' look, and decided to try out two Orly polishes I picked up in the US last week, 'Close Your Eyes' and 'Bubbly Bombshell'. Below is more information on each:
Close Your Eyes:
'Close Your Eyes' is a gorgeous, deep plummy-purple, with an iridesecent hot pink shimmer and a slightly metallic finish. This polish has insanely pigmented, as only one coat was needed to reach full opacity (I didn't even bother to add a second coat, it was that great). This super smooth polish applies like a dream and, if it is anything like the other Orly polishes I own, will last a long time without chipping.
Bubbly Bombshell:
'Bubbly Bombshell' is a stunning, fuchsia, micro-glitter polish with a plummy-purple undertone. This is definitely one of the prettiest polishes I have ever seen, and looks great worn alone or on top of 'Close Your Eyes'. This polish is very nicely pigmented and applies opaquely in two coats. Like all glitter polishes, 'Bubby Bombshell' is difficult to remove, but its gorgeous sparkly sheen makes it well worth the extra work.

I love the look of the two polishes together, and am once again totally impressed with Orly's polish formulation (I have yet to find an Orly polish I didn't like). When I bought these polishes, they were part of a 'buy one get one free' deal, and I'm kicking myself for not buying more. LOVE!
Have you tried either of these Orly polishes? Do you want to? What is your favourite polish from the brand? What is your go to 'festive' manicure? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.
xx

I was thinking the same thing about the promo (2 for 1), why didn't we get more? Ya sure I still came home with 11 that day, but I spent $3+ on crappy ones, when I could have had these for pennies more!
ReplyDeleteI think we were still trying to be good at that point. lol. xx
