OPI 'Mariah Carey Collection'

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are all having a great Friday, and are looking forward to your weekend. This weekend I am heading to my cottage for a 'girly weekend' with some of my favourite beauty bloggers (Canadian Fashionista, Beauty Thesis, Et Tu and You and Make Me Over Ande). I can't wait to relax, eat yummy food, and talk makeup.

For today's post I wanted to show you the O.P.I polishes I recently picked up from the new Mariah Carey Collection. While I am not a huge Mariah fan, I was intrigued by some of the swatches I saw online, and was lucky to get my hands on the colours I wanted, as a lot of the collection was already sold out at my local store. Here are the three shades I chose:

A Butterfly Moment
The first colour I picked up from the was 'A Butterfly Moment', a gorgeous peachy-pink polish with a heavy iridescent gold shimmer, and nude undertones. This polish applies opaquely in just one coat (seriously, it exceeded my expectations), giving the nails a gorgeous iridescent sheen. While, at first glance, 'A Butterfly Moment' looks like more of a Spring or Summer polish, its nude undertones make it great year round. This is definitely my favourite polish from the collection and, therefore, would highly recommend you grab one before its gone.

Anti-Bleak
The second polish I picked up from the collection was 'Anti-Bleak', a deep, yet bright plummy-purple creme polish. Like the majority of OPI's creme polishes, Anti-Bleak applies opaquely in two coats giving the nails an extremely smooth and shiny finish. While Anti-Bleak's deep colour makes it the perfect polish for Fall and Winter, its slight pink undertones (you can see them better in person) make it bright enough for Spring and Summer as well. If you are a big fan of OPI's creme polish formula, you definitely want to check this one out.

Stay The Night
As part of the new Mariah Carey Collection, OPI has introduced a new formula of nail polish, 'Liquid Sand'. Falling somewhere between a matte and a glitter polish, this somewhat gritty formula (think dry sand) is packed with different shades of glitter. While this polish goes on glossy, its base quickly dries to a matte finish, leaving only the glitter to shine. Wanting to give this new formula a try, I picked up 'Stay The Night', a black based polish with bright fuchsia glitter. While I really love the look of this polish (it is one of the most unique polishes I have ever used), it does apply somewhat patchy, and therefore needs at least three coats to achieve full opacity. Like all glitter polishes, 'Stay The Night' is more difficult to remove, but definitely worth the extra effort. If you are looking for a unique polish that will spark a lot of conversation, 'Stay The Night' is for you!

Have you tried any of the polishes from OPI's new Mariah Carey Collection? Do you want to? Which of the above polishes would you most like to try? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.

xx

    1. It's pretty cool. The only thing I don't love is the fact it takes forever to remove.
