Hey Everyone,
I hope you are having a fantastic Friday. My Friday has been spent inside the house as we are in the middle of a fairly big snow storm, and I still don't have snow tires on my car (procrastination...). While the snow outside my window does look really pretty (it always does when it first falls), I am so over the cold winter weather, and longing for Spring.
Of course, with at least a few more weeks of Winter left, it's hard not to feel 'the blues', so I have been turning to all of the new Spring 2013 cosmetic collections for a little 'pick me up'. From pretty pastels to bold, vibrant hues, these collections give me hope that warmer weather isn't too far away.
Lancome's Spring 2013, 'In Love' Collection, which features several new nail polishes, lip balms, eyeliners, eyeshadows and blushes, is one collection that has put a little 'spring' in my winter step (pun definitely intended). Lancome was nice enough to send me some of their gorgeous new products, and after a couple weeks of testing them out, I wanted to share my thoughts with you.
Lancome Colour Design Infinité 24 H Eyeshadow in 'Evermore Lilac', 'Boundless Blue' and 'Tremendous Turquoise'
($28 CND/$24.50 USD):
These pressed pigmented shadows, which remind me a lot of L'Oreal's Infalliable eyeshadows, are soft, easy to blend and extremely well pigmented. With a smooth, slightly frosty finish, these eyeshadows give lids a gorgeous sheen, that lasts beautifully throughout the day (I haven't tested the 24 hour claim, but I can say with certainty that they last a good 12 hours on me). Like all pressed pigment eyeshadows, the Lancome Infinité shadows do have a little bit of fallout, but nothing a little makeup remover pad can't fix. I received the following three Infinité shadows:
1) Evermore Lilac: An iridescent lilac with a blue sheen and fairly chunky silver glitter. While I wouldn't choose to wear this colour on a daily basis, it is really unique, and makes for the perfect 'going out' look.
2) Boundless Blue: A frosty blue with strong silver/grey undertones and very finely milled silver shimmer. This is quite an intense colour, so I personally prefer to wear it smudged along the lash line, rather than all over the lid.
3) Tremendous Turquoise: A gorgeous, slightly frosty, iridescent blue-green. This is definitely my favourite shadow from the collection, as it is the perfect colour for both Spring and Summer.
Lancome Khol in Love Eyeliner in 'Jade Crush':
This stunning teal eyeliner is the first product that caught my eye when I saw pictures of Lancome's new 'In Love' collection. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. This incredibly pigmented super creamy eyeliner (its the softest I have ever used) glides on effortlessly without any tugging or pulling. Once on the eye, it dries quickly resulting in a completely smudge proof (trust me, I've tried), long lasting, beautiful, pop of colour. This is definitely my favourite item from the new collection, and would HIGHLY recommend you check it out.
Lancome 'Baume In Love' Lip Balm in 'Urban Ballet' ($30 CND/$25 USD):
At first glance, Lancome's new 'Urban Ballet' Baume in Love may be the scariest, brightest lip colour you have ever seen. Well, I am here to tell you not to fret. Despite it's crazy bright hot pink look, this moisturizing balm applies very sheerly for a light wash of colour (it can be built up if you want something a little brighter). This tinted lip balm, which contains shea butter, is incredibly moisturizing, very light weight, not at all sticky, and gives the lips a soft, silky feel. Personally, for $30 CND, I would have liked this balm to be a little more pigmented (I am not afraid of a little colour), however I do appreciate its long lasting moisture on my incredibly dry lips.
Lancome 'Vernis in Love' Nail Polish in 'Peach Melodie' ($16 CND/$15 USD):
Lancome's 'Peach Melodie', a stunning, bright coral-orange with red undertones is, by far, one of the best formulated polishes I have ever tried. With a small, thick brush for precise application, this creamy polish, not only applies smoothly and evenly (not a streak in sight), it delivers a completely opaque finish in just one coat. I am in love with this new Lancome polish and definitely plan on trying out some of the other colours in this collection. Amazing!
Also included in this collection are two, gorgeous looking blushes, 'Peche Joue-Joue' and 'Pommettes D'Amour' that retail for $52 CND/$49 USD.
Boundless Blue, Evermore Lilac, Tremendous Turquoise
Urban Ballet, Jade Crush
Peach Melodie
Have you picked up anything from the new Lancome 'In Love' collection? Do you want to? Which of the products mentioned above would you most like to get your hands on? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.
xx

ReplyDeleteI know right? Pretty insane. xx
DeleteExcuse the novella, but I must spill my feelings of giddiness and excitement that only Makeup can deliver...so here goes! I too have that TA DIEYELINER ;) hehe, and it simply cannot have been made by humans on THIS planet anyways, because NOTHING, and i mean, hmm 17 years of wearing every kind of eyeliner brand /format there is..., from Wet n' Wild ( OUCH!) to Dior ,comes even CLOSE to the stellar-ness ( word?) to this product. I too was initially captured by Mz. Watson's electrifying rimmed eyes in the glossy pages of MC awhile back, ripped out the page, and stared at her, staring at me, until Lancome's spring collec hit our local Bay. I haaaad to see for myself, to prove to myself yet again, that this was the handiwork of any number or combination of these : pro photog ( with his trusty lighting, lens filters etc, the much easier, more plausible work of Photoshop, the skill of a pro makeup artist obviously was there, but I was thinkin' multiple products, maybe not even all Lancome's (Gasp!), to create this unreal shade and pigmentation, or finally, its just how freakin' beautiful Emma Watson is... Hope everyones still with me! lol, so, after all this, I will wrap it up by FIRMLY stating, confirming, shouting roof-top style, IT REEEEALLLY WAS THAT WAY IN REAL LIFE! Right there, on my little tester spot on my hand, FIRST swipe of its creamier than Philly, yet weeeirdly smudge-proof formula, that is a blue like I imagine the waters to be outside my hut in the Maldives. I FELL IN LOVEEEEE .. :) hope u enjoyed my account of one of the products off this collection, unfortunately I cant afford the rest, ahem, Lancome? hehe, no serious, ...because I want all my eyeliner to be this Outerspace!
