When it comes to shoes, I have never been the obsessive type. For me, shoes come in two seasons: Uggs for fall/winter, and flip flops for spring/summer. While I can appreciate a nice looking shoe, the fact that I have extremely small, but wide feet, combined with the fact that I can't walk in anything but flats (that is without breaking my ankle), has always worked against me.
That is why when I found myself not only trying on, but buying, a pair of bordeaux 'Smoking Slipper' wedges at Penningtons today, I was shocked! Can I walk in these shoes? No! Are these shoes comfortable enough to spend an entire day in? No! Are these shoes super cute? Hell yes, and for only $24.99, I've decided to train myself to walk in them.
While I doubt that I will be able to have the whole 'walk without breaking a limb' thing down by next week's 'World Mastercard Fashion Week' in Toronto, my goal is to wear them out to an event by the end of the year. Please wish me good luck!
Are you a shoe girl? Have you ever bought a pair of shoes you knew you wouldn't be able to wear just because they looked cute? Any tips for walking in heels/wedges? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.
