With the new 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' movie set to release in just over a week, O.P.I has released a collection of polishes named after and, inspired by, the new film. This collection, which includes three light nudes, three bold glitters and one of O.P.I's new liquid sand polishes, is a nice break from all of the dark, vampy collections we have been seeing all Winter (personally, I'm sick of them!).
I was recently sent four polishes from the new collection and, after a week of testing them out (my sister and I have been wearing all four colours for over a week), I wanted to share my thoughts.
O.P.I 'Glints of Glinda:
This sheer, peachy-beige polish gives nails a soft and very natural look, perfect for Spring. While quite sheer, 'Glints of Glinda' applied beautifully (no streakiness) in three coats for an opaque finish. I've been wearing this particular colour for a week now, and have had absolutely no problems with chipping or fading. I've been loving nude nail polish lately and, therefore, 'Glints of Glinda' has definitely become one of my all time favourite O.P.I polishes.
O.P.I 'I Theodora You':
This sheer, bubble-gum pink polish gives nails a natural, yet somewhat colourful look. Like 'Glints of Glinda', 'I Theodora You' is very easy to work with (no streaks) and applies opaquely in three coats. My sister, Krista, has been wearing this colour for over a week, and has had no problems with chipping or fading. This colour fits in perfectly with Spring's pastel trend, making it a great 'trendy' colour for both fingers and toes.
O.P.I 'Which is Witch?':
This holographic, silver glitter polish is packed full of both large hexagonal, and small rectangular glitter, making it easy to get a great 'blinged-out' effect in just two coats. I've been wearing this polish on top of 'Glints of Glinda' for the past week and have had absolutely no problems with chipping. This colour looks great worn on the tips of nails for a sparkly 'french manicured' look.
O.P.I 'Light of Emerald City':
With both large white square chunks, and smaller iridescent gold, peach, and green square chunks, this is one of the most unique glitter polishes I have ever tried. Unfortunately, this polish is somewhat difficult to apply, as you must dig out individual pieces of glitter in order to get them on the nail (they don't want to leave the bottle!). Once on, they give nails a really cool iridescent effect which, in my opinion, is well worth the extra effort. My sister has been wearing this polish on top of 'I Theodora You' for over a week and once again, has had no problems with chipping. So pretty!
Overall, I absolutely love all four polishes from the new O.P.I 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' collection. With the exception of 'Light of Emerald' City (which was difficult to apply), all of the polishes were easy to work with, and have lasted without chipping for over a week. This beautiful collection is a breath of fresh air after all of the heavy Winter collections, and, in my opinion, is definitely the best collection I have seen from O.P.I in quite sometime. If you love a good nude or glitter polish, I would definitely recommend you check this collection out.
What do you think of O.P.I's new 'Oz: The Great and Powerful Collection'? Will you be picking any of the polishes up? Which of the polishes above would you most like to try? Be sure to let me know in the comment section below.
