This Summer, Dior Cosmetics takes a nautical approach to the season with their stunning 'Transat Collection'. Inspired by Dior's first Resort collection in 1948, the collection features a large variety of products (eyeshadows, powders, lip glosses, lipsticks, nail polishes, etc.) in beautiful tones of sea inspired blue, bright poppy red and sun kissed tan.
"The 2014 Summer look unveils a cruise makeup collection; a palette of navy blue, primary red and sandy beige. The skin wears the radiance of the sun and outdoors glow. Eyes take to the seas in ultramarine blue, while lips light up in red, and nails wear the sailor's stripes. This season, chic is taking a breathe of maritime air"

With sun-kissed tans and deep ocean blues, Dior takes a fresh, maritime approach with this Summer's two 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes. Featuring five absolutely stunning incredibly creamy, and very pigmented shadows that work in combination to create a variety of unique Summer looks, Dior's newest 5 Couleurs palettes do not disappoint (I'll be honest, I've had had some pigmentation issues with some of Dior's previous eyeshadow palettes, but the 'Transat Collection' palettes are of the best quality). Below is a closer look at each of the two new palettes:
Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in '#344 Atlantique' ($62 CND):
1) A shimmering icy silver with blue undertones and chunky iridescent silver glitter.
2) A soft, creamy, matte baby blue with a slight iridescent blue sheen.
3) A deep smoky navy blue with an iridescent blue sheen.
4) A bright medium-toned blue with a gorgeous iridescent blue sheen and finely milled iridescent blue shimmer.
5) A matte chocolate brown with yellow undertones.
Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in '#564 Sundeck' ($62 CND):
1) A creamy matte beige with yellow undertones.
2) A shimmering peach with an iridescent gold sheen.
3) A shimmering terracotta orange packed with finely milled golden shimmer.
4) A deep shimmering bronze-gold with very finely milled golden shimmer.
5) A dark, smoky chocolate brown with slight purple undertones.
Diorskin Nude Tan Prime & Bronze ($42 CND):
A huge fan of Dior's makeup primers (I switch between their matte and healthy glow primers on a daily basis), I was very excited to see the brand add a new limited-edition primer to their collection. A revolution in self-tanning makeup, Dior's new 'Prime & Bronze' primes skin for makeup application (its silicone feel leaves skin smooth and pore less), while giving it a radiant and warm bronzed glow. A subtle self-tanner Dior's 'Prime & Bronze' works to slowly deepen skin-tone over time (Dior suggests using this product for daily for one week for best results), leaving the face with a natural-looking and healthy, sun-kissed tan.
A subtle combination of blush and bronze-toned shimmer and pigment, Dior's new 'Diorskin Nude Shimmer' illuminating powders work to both highlight and contour the face (both compacts include a small but well made kabuki brush), leaving skin with a fresh, natural-looking subtle summer glow. While both powders do contain a fair amount of shimmer, they are surprisingly smooth and easy to work with (these babies are pigmented so use a light hand when applying them) and, thankfully, don't draw any attention to uneven skin or imperfections. Below is a closer look at both of Dior's new 'Diorskin Nude Shimmers':
Dior Diorskin Nude Shimmer in '001 Pink' ($57 CND):
With hints of light baby pink, a medium rose-toned pink and a cool nude brown with pink undertones, Dior's Diorskin Nude Shimmer in 'Pink' gives cheeks a stunning, soft, light rosy glow when mixed together. Used separately, this compact works to contour (use the cool toned brown-pink) and highlight (use the baby pink) cheekbones, while adding warmth and colour to the cheeks (use the rose).
Dior Diorskin Nude Shimmer in '002 Amber' ($57 CND):
A combination of light beige, a peachy orange and a deep, yellow-toned brown, Dior's Diorskin Nude Shimmer in 'Amber' gives cheeks a tanned, peachy glow when mixed together (while I do like this colour, my fair skin much prefers the 'Pink' Nude Shimmer compact). Like the Nude Shimmer in 'Pink', this compact can be used separately to contour (use the brown) and highlight (use the beige) cheekbones, while adding a warm glow to the face (use the peachy orange).
Incredibly thick and creamy, very moisturizing and not at all sticky, Dior's beautifully pigmented, high-shine Dior Addict Glosses have long been some of my all time favourite lip products. For Summer 2014, Dior introduces the following two limited-edition Dior Addict Glosses as part of their 'Transat Collection':
Dior Dior Addict Gloss in '#412 Offshore' ($31 CND):
A shimmering beige with slight peach undertones, packed full of iridescent gold, peach and green shimmer, 'Offshore' gives lips a natural-looking high-shine finish (I love this colour both alone and on top of a lighter nude or pink lipstick).
Dior Dior Addict Gloss in '#642 Seafarer' ($31 CND):
A bright, creamy poppy red with coral undertones, 'Seafarer' bathes lips in intense high-shine colour (this gloss is incredibly well pigmented) and looks stunning worn alone with freshly tanned skin and a hint of mascara.
Silky, smooth and creamy, Dior's intensely pigmented Dior Addict Lipsticks coat lips in moisture (they feel amazing on), leaving them with a gorgeous high-shine finish. Below is a closer look at the two new limited-edition Dior Addict Lipstick shades released with the 'Transat Collection':
Dior Dior Addict Lipstick in '#611 Cruise' ($33 CND):
A beautiful mandarin orange with strong coral undertones, 'Cruise' gives lips a stunning pop of bold colour and gorgeous glossy finish that works beautifully with freshly tanned summer skin (I love love love this shade).
Dior Dior Addict Lipstick in '#651 Mayday' ($33 CND):
A bold crimson red with slight blue undertones, 'Mayday' is the perfect red (seriously, this is the quintessential red lipstick) giving lips a bold, high-shine finish that works perfectly with Dior's nautical themed Transat Collection.
Dior Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in '#005 Fresh Pink' ($33 CND):
A cult favourite, Dior's Dior Addict Lip Maximizer coats lips in creamy moisture while its rich blend of collagen and marine-based fillers help to plump lips making them appear fuller and more defined in just 15 days. Minty and cool, Dior's Dior Addict Lip Maximizer has a slight tingle, but unlike a lot of the other plumbers I have used, thankfully, does not sting or burn.
As part of their Summer 2014 Transat Collection, Dior has introduced a limited-edition shade of their Lip Maximizer. 'Fresh Pink', a creamy light pink with slight blue undertones, gives lips a beautiful glossy rose toned hue.
If you've been reading my blog for awhile now, you will know just how much I love Dior's line of nail polishes. Creamy, easy to use, and extremely well pigmented, all of their polishes apply opaquely in just one to two coats, leaving nails with intense colour that lasts well over a week (I usually get about a two week wear with Dior's line of polishes). This Summer, Dior has introduced three new limited-edition polish shades with their 'Transat Collection':
Dior Vernis in '#700 Sailor' ($31 CND):
A bright, creamy royal blue, 'Sailor' is the perfect nautical shade and applies opaquely in just two coats.
Dior Vernis in '#210 Yacht' ($31 CND):
A creamy neutral beige with yellow undertones, 'Yacht' is the perfect summer neutral (check out a nail look I did using 'Yacht' here), and applies opaquely in just two coats.
Dior Vernis in '#750 Captain' ($31 CND):
A crisp red with blue undertones, 'Captain' is the perfect apple red (this is one shade that works as well in the summer as it would in the winter), applying opaquely in just one to two coats.
